I attended a JW memorial service about 2 years ago and the speaker I thought gave a good eulogy to the diseased even though he quoted a few scriptures. Just recently I attended another JW memorial and the sermon was about 10 minutes on the person and the rest a big info-commercial with a scripture quoted one after the other. I did not keep count but I would think the speaker read about 10 - 12 scriptures. It seemed very confusing just raddling off one scripture after another without much explanation in between. I know these elders follow an outline from the GB but the old crocks at the WT still don't get it. If they think this turned others on to their cult they are wrong. I asked a few outsiders what they thought and they thought it was a little much. People aren't stupid and see it for what it is, just a recruitment info-commercial.

the famous myth busters had a revealing show on the power of the sneeze anecdotally it has a velocity of some 35 miles per hour and travels a distance of some 30 feet.. ever traveled in the close confines of an air liner?

I take anythig the authorities say with a grain of salt. They do not want people panicing, so they will try to down play the dangers. I have learned the medical profession only tells you what they think you need to know.

You would to think that religious people if they truly believe in a better life after this one would be celebrating and rejoice when someone dies. I really think that it just shows that these religious people deep down actually don't believe the BS.

She says "we love everyone" but should add "we conditionally love anyone as long as they follow the WT dogma".

Knorr on 1914: "I don't know." - Mouthy Alert!
by compound complex indear mouthy and other denounced ones,.
you may find this double standard $%^@#@*&!
"in 1975, knorr made a remarkable and candid statement to the governing body, which confirmed his growing disillusionment until his death two years later: ["]'"there are some things i know --- i know that jehovah is god, that christ jesus is his son, that he gave his life as a ransom for us, that there is a resurrection.

We know that the 1975 date was all Fred Franz. It wouldn't surprise me if Knorr was not in favor of a lot of the religious JW dogma but left that side up to Franz. According to Ray Franz the GB knew that they mislead the rank and file dubs abut the 1975 date but never really apologised for their error, so what makes you think they will admit anything else they have said is wrong?

My take on it. This woman is alienating this man away from the rest of the family, so I would be suspicious of her motives. I have seen too many of these stories. Next move she will get him to change his will so she is the beneficiary of most of his money. Maybe take out a big life insurance policy on him then watch out.

sparky1, I can relate to what you are saying. I knew an old fellow back in 1975 that was dying of cancer and he thought that if only he could hang on a few more months that he would not have to face death but walk into that new system. Ubfortunately he died with the dream. The only good thing with my mother is she held the hope that her last thoughts would be to fall alsleep and wake up in a paradise earth to be greated by all her loved ones. Who am I to take that hope away from her.

I am sure this has been discussed before. This is kind of a continuation on of my previous post. We have just recently lost a close family member. Seems like the JW relatives are taking this death very hard whereas myself so far I have not taken as hard. My theory on this is that as I have done the slow fade for the last 40 years, I have come to terms with death whereas the JW relatives have not because of living in this false paradise where they were not supposed to see death as the new system was to be here by now. What do others think of my theory?
